Mario
Giammetti's book: Anthony Phillips - The Exile |
The first book about Anthony Phillips
ever!
This is the new Mario Giammeti's work.
In spite of what some people think, Anthony Phillips was not just
the guitarist on the first two Genesis records. He was one of the
four founding members. He was one of the songwriters. He was even (unpopular,
but hardly disputable idea) the leader of Genesis in the Trespass
days, when they grew from a hopeless pop band to progenitors of
acoustic progressive rock ...

Steve Hackett at
Dusk Day 4! |
Orvieto (TR),
Italy
Teatro Mancinelli
20th September 2008
Steve Hackett will guest at the
fourth edition of Dusk Day; the convention of Genesis fans and
Dusk magazine supporters. Steve will NOT perform a concert; he
will guest just to greet the fans and to answer questions. However,
the legendary guitarist has promised us to play a couple of
acoustic songs, with help of brother John Hackett. All the details
concerning the event will be published on this web site in the
next weeks, including the modalities to book the tickets. It´s
important to notice that Steve Hackett comes for free and that all
the proceeds will go to the international organisation Amref,
whose aim it to educate African people to become doctors, teachers,
engineers and so on. Prices for the event are as it follows:
Ticket €. 10,00
Reduced €. 8,00
Reduced tickets are for children
under 12 years and Dusk subscribers. Dusk subscribers should write
to mariogiammetti@yahoo.it to get a written receipt which has to
be shown at the ticket office to obtain the discount. Ticket
office at the theatre will be open from 10 to 13 and from 15 to
19. It is not possible to book tickets from here, but they will be
simply paid at the ticket office and numbered at the moment.
Anyone willing to have dinner,
can also book for a buffet which will be held after the end of the
convention in another room of the theatre. More stuff to come (photos
exhibition, auctions for the Amref organisation, presentations of
books...). Finally, we would suggest anyone willing to sleep in
Orvieto to be quick, as a medical convention will also be held
there in the same week end. Here you can read the complete list of
our guests:
After Genesis Alberto
Bocini (double bass), Alessandro Cavicchi (piano) and Andrea
Baggio (live electronics) will perform Genesis 1972/74 classics
from their acclaimed album The Cryme Of Selling Lambs.
Graziano Romani Former
leader of Rocking Chairs, Graziano is considered one of the best
Italian rockers. He is also a sincere fan of Genesis and Gabriel,
and in Orvieto he will sing acoustic versions of a few Genesis
related songs.
Steve Hackett feat.
John Hackett Steve Hackett will reply to the questions of the fans
and may play a couple of acoustic tunes along with brother John
Hackett.

Ray Wilson and Richard
Macphail at Dusk Day 3! |
On September 22nd the third edition of
Dusk Day, held in Orvieto, Italy, will feature two very special
guests, among lots of other stuff like never seen before video
projections, auctions of signed records and so on.
Richard Macphail will appear during the convention, recalling his
times with Genesis, of which he was a sort of sixth memeber till
1973 (and he even collaborated with the band and Peter Gabriel after that).
Ray Wilson will perform a solo acoustic concert, playing both his
solo stuff and Genesis songs, also entertaining people, as always,
with his funny stories between one song and another.

Genesis & Phil
Collins web sites forum out of order |
Annie Callingham
speaks: "I don't know if you've noticed (I'm sure the fans have) but
both the PC and Genesis forums have gone down with the sheer volume
of traffic right now. It was dealt with yesterday but has gone down
twice more since then, Could you both possibly put something on your
websites to let people know that Bill is trying to sort it out ASAP
and to please be patient. I'm sure that the Italian forumites will
check with you guys and, as a lot of them are in touch with other
forumites, they will probably let them know that Bill is trying his
best to get it all up and running again." |

that earlier this month Peter Gabriel said in his Moonclub message
that he was not having any involvement in the current reunion,
although he added it would have been possible in the future. |
