Mario Giammetti’s new book dedicated to Genesis is out now.

The books tries to trace the most detailed historic and critic recollection of Genesis` whole career, from the first humble steps at Charterhouse until the recent box sets, passing through all the mutations of a band born in the beat era, who were able to turn into a reference point for the progressive rock scene first and, later, in an incredible hit machine.

Every Genesis album, including live records, is analysed putting together the most detailed amount of information and quotes, including hundreds of statements from the members of the band in various eras and excerpts from reviews.

The second part of the book is a thick appendix dedicated to the prolific artistic career of the band on stage, as they have performed for some 30 years. This section of the book has been prepared by Mino Profumo (from 1968 to 1977) and Alessandro Berni (from 1978 to 1998).

Inside the book, you can find more than 100 pictures, most of which never or rarely seen before.

The book features a detailed discography, including videos, books and Internet web sites, and is enriched by two prestigious essays: Anthony Phillips wrote a preface, while Phil Collins sent a handwritten message.
