March 2012: the German fan club "it" convention

The next convention of the German fan club, which celebrates its 20th anniversary, will be held on the 10th and 11th March 2012. The program includes 10 years later, the revival of the Lamb Event, with the participation of Serge Morissette to the usual goodies: photos, video, Super 8 and other memorabilia. Mike Rutherford – Silent Runner is the title of the upcoming release by Mario Giammetti, the first one in the world dedicated to Mike. The book tells it all with first-hand recollections and a rich photographic apparatus, making it essential to finally do justice to this silent runner.

Mike & The Mechanics: new album, tour and web site!

Mike Rutherford comes back with his project with a completely renewed line up. Mike & The Mechanics new singers are Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar, and the new album “The Road” will be released on Arista label in April. The band will tour UK for the whole month of May, performing then a bunch of shows in Germany. There currently no plans for any shows in Italy. Steve Hackett married Jo Lehmann on June 4th. The ceremony was held at the Registration Office in St. Alban’s, about 25 miles from central London, in front of a selected bunch of friends and relatives. In the afternoon, the couple celebrated in a farm, where they were reached by more guests. Love to Jo and Steve from all the Italian fans. See the picture
Mario Giammetti’s book being presented in Naples conservatory with Steve Hackett as special guest!

Friday 11th March 2011 the book “Musical Box” by Mario Giammetti will be presented in the Sala Scarlatti inside the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples.

Phil Collins new album and shows!

The drummer has finished the recording of “Going Back”, his album of Motown cover versions. The album is going to be released in September, but it will be preceded by a few showcases (only one in Europe, sadly). See more: here

Farewell to John Mayhew, Genesis drummer on Trespass.
The news spread only on April 1st, but the drummer died on March 26th, one day before his 62nd birthday because of heart problems. He was recovered in a hospital. Mario Giammetti's article >

The book starts with the school days (London, 1963), exploring the first meeting between Peter Gabriel and Anthony Banks, the passionate and determining discovery of Beatles music, the formation of the first adolescent band (Garden Wall). click here
Steve Hackett Event in Germany, 27th-28th March.
Friends of the German fan club are organising a fantastic two days event with Steve Hackett. On March 27th the guitarist will be the guest for a public interview, after a solo show by John Hackett accompanied by Nick Magnus on keyboards. The next day, a performance of Steve Hackett acoustic trio is planned, along with more events, like a show by The Watch and a photographs exhibition. More info here www.genesis-news.com
